An interesting essay for young people to read. An extract is given.
"Wires, cables, radio waves surround our daily life. Our homes and rooms are equipped to receive sound and images. The telephone and the video phone make visits and travels less necessarily. We can meet our neighbours and relatives and friends through these means of communications. The meaning of human social company is gradually fading. We will no longer shake hands, tap our friend on the shoulder, and hear each other’s natural voice. This will gradually diminish the need for collective experiences like religious assembly, theatre going and so on. Our rooms are fitted will all kinds of electrical cables and waves.
But in actual fact, we will be very lonely people. Our eyes will stick to the screen all day long. A growing number of people will meet their partners on the net and get married there."
